Materials for children

The children of the church are important to us. We want them to know and care about our partners through Christian Aid too – to know how others live, eat, play and about their school and work life.

We are happy to help: with extra pictures, with ideas, with campaign materials suitable for children from Christian Aid. If you have a need talk to us and we will see what we can do.

Water4Life – exploring water as an issue for you and for our partners, plus lots of ideas of what you can do. Commitment for Life resource.
Also The Water Game from Christian Aid – a fun way to find out how water affects people in different ways around the world.

It’s not fair! Exploring fairtrade with the children in the church. A resource to help children in the church (7-11 years) to explore fairtrade, particularly bananas and chocolates. With games, pictures and activities aimed at Junior church, ‘It’s not fair’ aims to get children thinking of their own purchasing power and the ability to help others through fairtrade.

Education in Gaza, Education in Zimbabwe, Education in Jamaica, Education in Bangladesh

Lives of four children and the difficulties for children to gain a full education in the four countries.

What the children can do . . .

  • Write the stories from partners in their own words.
  • Collect as many pictures, posters and facts – especially on their partner country – to make a huge display for your church.
  • Write your own song or prayer about the children in other countries. Sing it in church.
  • Add up how much money you get to spend. Try to save one penny in each pound for the next 100 weeks. Mark the weeks in your diary, then bring your total to church for the Commitment for Life special service.
