Commitment for Life
Christian
Aid offers Commitment for Life churches the privilege
of hearing the stories of people in some of the poorest and
most diffi cult places in the world; Zimbabwe, the Occupied
Palestinian Territories, Jamaica and Bangladesh.
With the support of Belonging to the World Church
we can bring our partners here to tell their stories directly
to you.
We discover how partners in these countries help people develop
skills, build self-reliance and work their way out of poverty.
Our sense of partnership, deeper understanding and witnessing
change – all these bring us hope and inspire us to pray, give
and campaign.
The
World Development Movement (WDM) has been involved for over
30 years in addressing the policies and practices of rich
nations that keep people poor. WDM has a reputation for tackling
diffi cult issues – including, the General Agreement on Trade
and Services (GATS) and the conditions the IMF and World Bank
attach to debt relief.
Campaigning does work. WDM’s long-standing
relationship with the United Reformed Church has enabled many
of our campaigns to benefi t some of the poorest people in
the world.
